Andhra Pradesh HC: Don’t transfer Hyderabad Cricket Association case officials
Hyderabad: Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao directed the DG of the ACB not to shift any officer associated with the investigation of a case against the office-bearers of the Hyderabad Cricket Association till the probe was complete.
The judge was dealing with petitions seeking a direction for ACB to constitute a SIT to monitor the investigation.
The petitioners said the accused, who were influential persons and former colleagues of the CM, were bringing pressure on the ACB to slow down the investigation.
Status quo on society land
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the AP High Court directed the state, the APNGOs (Gachibowli) Mutually Aided Cooperative Housing Society and two other private parties — V. Srinivas and M. Lakshmikanthaiah — to maintain status quo with respect to 10 acres of land at Gachibowli allotted to the Society.
The counsel for the Society said the state had allotted land to the Society, but Srinivas claims that this land was allotted to his father under political sufferers’ quota, while Lakshmikanthaiah claims he bought this land from Srinivas’s father.
He said there was no record that this land was allotted to a political sufferer.
Cellphone tap plea admitted
Justice Ramesh Ranganathan admitted a petition by D.A. Srinivas, the son of D. Adikesavulu Naidu (former chairman of the TTD Board), challenging an order passed by the Karnataka principal secretary (home) to record his cellphone conversations in 2007.
Explanation sought by HC
Justice Ranganathan also summoned the Mahbubnagar district police superintendent to appear before the court on Friday and explain why he did not file an affidavit in a murder case, in spite of a court order.
