TN IFoS topper for transparency, tech
Chennai: Union Public Service Commission on Wednesday released the results of Indian Forest Service cadre exam and of the 85 candidates who successfully cleared it, 16 belong to Tamil Nadu.
An alumnus of Anna University V.P. Gowtham, has topped the cards from Tamil Nadu by securing 3rd rank at all India level.
Jubilant V.P. Gowtham told Deccan Chronicle that he feels elated to secure the top rank. When enquired about how his engineering subjects helped him to clear the exams, the topper said that his engineering helped him to tackle various questions based on science.
The topper told that his father was a motivational factor behind his achievement.
“My father kept feeding me with various facts, since he was a practising lawyer, moreover it was my friends who constantly encouraged me,” he said adding that he would strive to bring in more technology into the Indian forest system and work towards more transparency.
Fourteenth rank holder T. Charusree cleared the exam by managing both the her job in an MNC and preparing for civil service.
“ If a person can spend five hours on preparation, he/she can clear the exam. Planning will make things quite easy,” she said.
C. Chellapan, dean, College of Engineering Guindy, said, “Science has penetrated into every aspect of administration. I am confident that success of our alumni will inspire many others to pursue the dream of civil service.”
