Indian Premier League Auctions 2014: Yuvraj goes to RCB for Rs.14 crore, Dinesh Karthik at DD for Rs.12.5 crore

Yuvraj Singh bought by RCB for a whopping Rs.14 crore, the highest on Day 1 of IPL auction.

That concludes Day 1 of the two-day IPL auction of 2014. Those players who haven't been sold today, still can fancy themselves and hope to be lapped up by one or the other franchise tomorrow.

‘Right to Match’ allows a team to match the bid for one of their players (part of the squad in 2013) bought by another team. If a team uses its Right to Match, it will get the player and no more bidding will be allowed.

The current rules: Minimum strength of each squad no less than 18 and maximum 27 of which upto nine can be overseas players. - No more than four overseas players in the XI for any match - A team must spend a minimum of Rs 36 crore at the auction. - The salary cap is Rs 60 crore for a team in IPL 7. - A franchise may retain no more than four capped Indian players through a combination of player retention and Right to Match cards.
