95 clones of the famous Flappy Bird game show up in just 24 hours
Google Play and Apple’s App Store have witnessed a plethora of games with the name ‘Flappy’ in its title. A research from the Guardian stated that in the last 24 hours itself, 300 new iOS games went live on the App Store and nearly one-third were clones (or inspired by) of the recent app Flappy Bird.
Apple has been recently seen rejecting all new game uploads, which look like the famous Flappy Bird gamea and some game developers were also told that “your app name attempts to leverage a popular app." While most were rejected, many others are trying to use a different name to get in.
As per the research conducted in 24 hours between 26th Feb. and 27th Feb., almost 293 new iOS games were uploaded on the App Store and almost 95 of them were Flappy Bird-inspired games.
A few mentioned games that were similar to the popular game are Tappy Bieber, Flying Duckie, Flappy Penguin - Revenge, Easy Flappy Penguin, Flappy The City Flyer - Premium, Flying Rainbow Cat, Wander Ghost, Tappy Nyan, Flappy Monsters, Splashy Bird Ghost, Floppy Spongy, and many more.
