There aren’t many places Chelsea haven’t played in the last few seasons on their worldwide adventures, but now some of Jose Mourinho’s top stars have been sent to a new destination... Springfield.
As part of a deal with legendary cartoon The Simpsons, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres, Eden Hazard and John Terry have all been drawn like they were shopping at the Kwik E Mart or catching a pint with Homer at Moe’s Tavern.
Terry said: ‘It’s great to see myself and the other players as Simpsons characters. I can’t wait to see what Bart and Homer will look like as Chelsea players.’
Football will take over the Simpsons in a new episode in the show’s 25th series in March ahead of this summer's World Cup in Brazil. The episode will see Homer enlist as a referee with daughter Lisa’s help.
