Bengaluru: BJP leaders on Saturday dismissed allegations by leaders of rival parties that only corporate houses of Adani and Ambani prospered in Gujarat.
During an interaction with industrialists here, party spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said: “It is nonsense to claim that only Ambani and Adani benefitted in Gujarat. Come with me, I will show you how many start ups have benefited.”
Explaining the emphasis on manufacturing sector in Gujarat, an initiative launched to create more employment opportunities, she said innovation and skill development are essential to make human resources employable by industries. "This has been happening in Gujarat," she said highlighting the Gujarat model of development.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said the only link between good economy and good politics was good governance and that the government under the leadership of Narendra Modi would provide it. "The only link between good economy and good politics is good governance. You talk of entrepreneurship, you talk of policy initiatives. Under Narendra Bhai, we can assure you good governance, an enabling atmosphere, which will provide an opportunity for all of you to grow," Mr Prasad added. Speaking at the Idea Exchange Forum organised by the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence (CEE), he said an enabling atmosphere comes from good political decision making. Citing lack of a strong decision making leadership for the current situation, he said, "Our commitment to you all is, we will provide you enabling atmosphere. This enabling atmosphere comes from good political decision-making. The Prime Minister of a great country like India has to be a popular leader, who must have the ability to take decision, right decisions, strong decisions."
Assuring industrialists that an enabling atmosphere for businesses and entrepreneurs would be provided if NDA was voted to power in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Mr. Prasad said, "We shall be very clear that what is doable shall be done, what cannot be done will be conveyed to you with a request on how to have the alternative."
