Ekta Kapoor known to be an extremely protective mentor for those she works with (remember Prachi Desai?) so we weren’t really surprised when we heard that Balaji honcho Ekta Kapoor now has a new favourite: Varun Dhawan. Although their first film together, Main Tera Hero, has not released yet, Ekta is already in talks with Varun for another project, our sources claimed. In fact, Varun also suggested an innovative promotional idea for their film to Ekta, and she immediately agreed.
“Varun had suggested that instead of attaching the trailer of Main Tera Hero to this week’s release (Ragini MMS 2), they should simply attach the remixed version of the popular number Palat. Ekta loved the idea and went ahead with her hero’s request,” our source said.
A strategy where an entire song from an upcoming project is attached to a new release hasn’t been tried out in Bollywood. Will Ekta’s faith in Varun’s strategy prove well founded?
