Nikkita’s here to stay
Nikkita, a Malayali settled in Delhi, is making very ‘tutored’ entry into Tollywood. The actress knows both Malayalam and Tamil, but not Telugu.
“I wrote the dialogues in English and understood the meaning to get the emotions right,” she reveals.
She is now learning the language by watching old Telugu classics. Born and brought up in Delhi, Nikkita, who wanted to join films, joined theatre after completing her graduation. When the Telugu director Vasanth was looking for fresh faces for his film Tholi Prema Katha, Nikkita sent in her portfolio.
“After the audition, I was selected for this film. This is my first film,” says Nikkita. She has now signed a Tamil and Malayalam film. “They approached me after seeing promos of my Telugu film,” she says happily. She adds that she wants to do more Telugu films but wants good scripts. Nikkita’s mother is a psychological counselor and her father works in Muscat.
“Actually all the three films in three languages are ready and I am very excited,” she says.
