Aircel introduces ‘Facebook for All’ plan
March 28, 2014: Aircel has introduced a new plan known as 'Facebook for All', offering free access to Facebook in nine regional languages. This new plan will enable subscribers to use free Facebook Messenger as well.
It will enable customers to use Facebook in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. At present, this service is being offered in selected states like Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Maharashtra.
“Over 75 million people access Facebook through their mobile phones in India and more than 60 per cent of Aircel customers who have data enabled handsets consume Internet on their phones. Considering this trend, the launch of the ‘Facebook for All’ service is a strategic and natural step to re-iterate our commitment towards increasing data proliferation and usage of Internet in the country,” said Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel.
The Mobile Indian also reported, ‘Under this offer, new subscribers can enjoy free 50 MB per month data on Facebook for a period of two months and existing subscriber will also get free 50 MB data but only for one month.’ The existing users can activate this plan by dialling *121*999#.
In the first pack, one can use Facebook for 28 days by paying Rs 14 and the data limit will be 100 MB while for the second pack one has to pay Rs 5 for accessing Facebook for 5 days with a data limit of 25 MB.
