March 28, 2014: Airtel Digital has launched the Android version of its new television streaming app known as ‘Pocket TV. This app will enable subscribers to view 150 live television channels, which can be streamed on your Android smartphone and tablet as well.
‘The Pocket TV app is a convergence of the TV and mobile phone and its launch follows the success of Airtel Digital TV’s innovative offering of Twitter on TV which was the first ever global convergence of Twitter and TV,’ stated Airtel Digital TV.
Trak.in also reported, ‘The Pocket TV app also has a library of over 10,000 videos that users can filter and watch.’
Genre based UI and Social Media Integration are the two additional features available on this app. These features enables users to filter channels and view videos by its respective genre and even share the channel on Facebook.
One can download this app for free from Google Play, available at a subscription fee of INR 60 per month. Once the app is installed, customers need to activate the service by sending the SMS <ADD TV> to 54325 from their registered mobile number. Airtel is also planning to launch this app for the iOS version.
