Olympus unveils ‘Stylush SH-1’ camera
Its ‘Advanced Movie’ mode enables shooting of different types of movies
March 31, 2014: Olympus Imaging Corporation has unveiled its new camera model known as ‘Stylush SH-1’and is scheduled to go on sale by the end of April 2014.
It comprises of a 24x, high-powered optical zoom lens, 5-axis optical image stabilization for both still images and movies, offering an equivalent of 25mm to 600mm (in 35mm terms) and a 16 million-pixel sensor. The camera also has a built-in Wi-Fi to enable users to enjoy photography.
The ‘Pen’ compact system being the unique design, its body also has an aluminum alloy for the top part of the camera and a metallic finish has also been used to match the respective body color. A post-diamond cut process is formed around the lens barrel and base, a pliable, strong synthetic leather material is applied to the front of the camera.
The enhanced ‘Advanced Movie’ mode makes this camera capable of shooting four different types of movies. One can record Full High-Definition movies at 60 frames per second. While recording movies in the iAUTO mode, the camera automatically recognizes the scene and records movies at the optimal image quality to match the scene. The 'time lapse movie' function is installed in this model for fixed-point observation shooting of flowers opening or the movement of clouds.
Its ‘photo and movie capture’ mode also allows users to capture a 16 mega pixel high-quality image simultaneously while recording a Full HD movie. And the ‘240 fps high-speed movie’ can easily record 240 fps (HVGA: 432 x 324), and 120 fps (HD: 1280 x 720) high-speed movies. Even subjects that move at split-second speed, can be captured vividly and then played back in slow motion.
This model will be available on stands in three different colours which includes silver, black and white.
