Uma Bharti’s 'Vinash Purush' jibe at Narendra Modi surfaces
New Delhi: BJP’s firebrand leader and the party’s Lok Sabha candidate from Jhansi Uma Bharti had raked up controversy a few days back by calling Narendra Modi not as a good orator as former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. But that is not the first time that the sanyasin took a jibe at the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate. An old video of Uma Bharti is being circulated on the web which shows the leader calling Narendra Modi as ‘Vinash Purush (man of destruction)’.
In the video she also states that Hindus in Gujarat were actually scared. “All the claims about GDP and development in Gujarat are false and the state is indebted in last five years,” she had added.
The video is most likely from the time when Ms Bharti had floated her own political outfit after being expelled from the BJP in 2004.
Another BJP candidate Smriti Irani had a few days back apologised during a TV interview for hitting out at Mr Modi in 2004 saying that he should have stepped down in the wake of 2002 riots.
