Chandrababu Naidu holds four meets in a day

TD chief promises to turn Tirupati into an IT hub, Seemandhra into Singapore
Tirupati: Telugu Desam supremo Chandrababu Naidu undertook a whirlwind tour in his home district by holding four public meetings in a single day at four constituencies on Monday.
Mr Naidu, who arrived at the temple town, reached SR Puram in GD Nellore constituency by helicopter and held his first public meeting, followed by another at Puthalapattu, then at Chandragiri and finally reached the temple town of Tirupati late in the evening.
On his arrival at the temple town, TD cadres led by the party chief undertook a massive rally through the arterial roads of the temple town all the way to the Leela Mahal junction, the venue of the last public meeting in the district.
Addressing the electorate throughout the day, Mr Naidu’s speeches centred on the promise for development, as he tried to put across the point that the TD was the only hope for the people of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh.
Squarely blaming the Congress for the division of the state, Mr Naidu tried his best in concealing the role of the TD in the division of the state. Stating that the TD had put up an impressive fight to ensure “equal justice” to both the regions, he blamed the YSR Congress and the TRS for leading the state into an absolute turmoil by resorting to divisive politics only to come to power.
Playing to the galleries, the TD chief promised to turn Seemandhra into Singapore and promised overall development of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh if voted to power. He said that his first signature would be on the waiver of farmers’ loans followed by another waiver of the loans of the women’s SHGs.
Calling himself the most experienced leader in the state, as someone who ruled the state for nine years followed by two decades as the leader of the Opposition, Mr Naidu said he would deliver able governance to the people and ensure that Seemandhra was turned into “Swarnandhra” over the next decade.
Shifting the essence of his long-winding speech to local issues, Mr Naidu tried to woo the youth by promising them a plethora of opportunities by turning Tirupati into an IT hub. The TD chief also promised to turn agriculture into a profitable occupation by setting up agri-based industries in the region, which is highly drought prone.
