Aam Aadmi Party to keep it simple if elected
Hyderabad: Aam Aadmi Party’s top leaders and other AAP candidates will be filing another affidavit saying that if elected, none of the candidates will use any form of VIP treatment, government bungalows or cars with red beacons. It will also be mentioned that they will not use pepper spray in Parliament.
“Every candidate will stand by what is written in the affidavit. We will not take any government facility or any kind of VIP treatment. We will only fight for the rights of the people,” said Venkat Reddy, the MP candidate from Chevella.
During her campaign in the old city area, AAP leader Shazia Ilmi said, “Many people are afraid to come out and support us since they are afraid that their leader might find out about it. Don’t people have even the basic right to chose their leader?”
V. Balakrishnan, former Infosys CFO, lauded the efforts of the party and said that they have represented even the rural population.
“No party, so far, has reached out to the remote villages. Only the Aam Aadmi Party now has a rural face and addresses people in Adilabad, Achampet, Elandhu and many more places,” said Mr Balakrishnan.
