I’m available to people 24x7, says Vishweshwar

'I hope that people of Chevella will give me an opportunity to serve them'

Hyderabad: Traditionally, it is a common practice for candidates to promise the moon to voters. But of late, highly qualified candidates and corporate honchos too have been entering the electoral fray seeking change and promising development.
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy of the TRS contesting from Chevella LS constituency is one such honcho who promises development.
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy is the grandson of former Deputy CM Konda Ranga Reddy after whom Ranga Reddy district has been named.
Deccan Chronicle sought his views on various issues and his promises. Excerpts:

Q: Chevella is the biggest constituency in the country. How do you plan to address the issues here?
You are right, Tandur, Pargi, Vikarabad and Chevella are predominantly rural, while Maheswaram, Rajendranagar and Serilingampally are urban segments. Each segment has unique problems. Being a local, I have the distinct advantage of understanding the needs of each segment. I strongly believe that my ‘growth stimulators’ will fast-forward growth.

Q: What are these growth stimulators?
To achieve this goal there are six fundamental requirements like basic living amenities, social infrastructure, physical infrastructure, skill development, and government policies. These are the prerequisites to attract good human resources and bridge the gap between industry and education.

Q: How far do you think these can positively impact the the constituency’s needs?
I am committed to be accessible to the people of my constituency 24/7 through two offices, one in the rural and another in the urban part, with a social worker, an IT professional and a management graduate in charge. These offices will ensure continuous monitoring of various programmes.
I believe a strong commitment to execution is the need and I am committed to provide the leadership to realise the true potential of the geography.

Q: Your constituency has a large segment of population whose roots are beyond Telangana and it is common knowledge that these segments have some apprehensions today. What is your solution to this issue?
I do not believe in the word settlers. People from different regions, cultures and religions have been living in Hyderabad and surrounding areas for centuries and have become an integral part of this geography. They have contributed to the growth and development of this region and are as much part of the community here as anybody else.
Political opponents are making attempts to scare these segments of our population by spreading lies. This is being done for narrow political reasons and there is no substance or reality in what is being spread. I would like to reassure all sections of the community that we are working for an inclusive Telangana rather than an exclusive Telangana.

Q: What is your message for people in your constituency?
On behalf of TRS, I request all sections of the community, irrespective of the region they come from, the religion they follow and the culture they adopt to vote for TRS and support us in our mission of building a new Telangana that each one of us living here and the country is proud of. With a clear vision and ability to implement programs, I believe I have the right credentials to represent the people of Chevella in the Parliament. I sincerely hope that the people of Chevella Parliamentary Segment will give me an opportunity to serve them and lead them in their journey towards a better, happy, healthy and respectful life.
