Hyderabad: Launching a scathing counter attack on actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan for his alleged jibes and outbursts against YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma described him as a mad crow basking in the glory of parties and leaders that facilitated bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, she said that it was Mr Reddy who tried his best and fought till the last to keep the state united by meeting leaders of national and regional political parties, while the BJP and TD helped the Congress bifurcate the state in the most unjustified manner.
Mrs Padma strongly objected to Mr Pawan Kalyan’s remark that Telangana agitation took shape during YSR Congress’ regime and said that an ignorant Pawan should know the facts before speaking. She said it was YSR who strongly opposed division and made strong efforts to stop it from happening.
She said, “While most of the TD leaders also know the facts, Mr Pawan Kalyan, whose madness goes beyond calculations, has been taking the BJP that forced the division on one side, the TD that speeded up the bifurcation and his brother Chiranjeevi, who failed to stop the division, behind his back.”
Mrs Padma questioned Mr Pawan Kalyan, “Where were you sleeping while the Congress was dividing the state with the unstinted support of the BJP and the TD? And what happened to your Telugu pride?”
She warned Mr Pawan Kalyan not to speak and spread canards without knowing the facts.
Reacting to comments made by the actor that Mr Reddy and TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao are not criticising each other, Mrs Padma said, “Jagan Mohan Reddy did not criticise either KCR or Pawan, YSRC never thought that TRS having two MPs would achieve Telangana. Might be Pawan has that notion but we were never guided by preconceived notion. Hence YSRC chief never thought it a necessary to criticise KCR.”
Mrs Padma said despite the false propaganda and baseless criticism indulged in by Mr Modi, Mr Naidu and Mr Pawan Kalyan against Mr Reddy, they can’t move him an inch from the hearts of Telugu people.
