IPL 7 MI vs RCB: Mumbai win ugly game

Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard powered MI to post huge total

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians juggled their inexperienced bowling well to defend a score 187/5 on a good batting wicket and register 19-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in their seventh Indian Premier League game at Wankhede stadium here on Tuesday.

Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh were the only experienced bowlers and RCB batsmen took apart Pawan Suyal, Jasprit Bumrah initially to build solid platform. But Bumrah and Suyal turned the game in the home side’s favour by dismissing danger men AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli in quick succession.

This was Mumbai Indians second win this season and they kept their fortress intact.

The host batsmen did the job with skipper Rohit Sharma and fired up Kieron Pollard sharing 97 runs for the fifth wicket in 60 balls to take Mumbai to a good total.

Rohit 59 (35b, 3x4, 4x6) had a slow start but imploded in the last three overs which yielded 48 runs. Varun Aaron’s (1/41) penultimate over went for 24 as Rohit struck three sixes and a boundary.
