SPG go-ahead to Prime Minister’s bungalow repair
New Delhi: The elite Special Protection Group, tasked with protecting the Prime Minister, ex-PMs and their immediate family members, has given its go-ahead to the repairs carried out by the Central Public Works Department in PM Manmohan Singh’s new abode at 3 Moti Lal Nehru Marg.

The CPWD, which is carrying out the renovation of the bungalow, has already removed several structures in the outdoor space. Though the some repairs have already been undertaken, the department is now laying the wooden floor and new tiles in the bungalow.
A new pipeline for supplying untreated water for gardening in the sprawling 3.25 acre bungalow has already been laid.
All the 26 air-conditioners, which were fitted in the Lutyen’s bungalow during former chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s tenure, have been removed.
