Hyderabad: Two Toyota Prados were purchased by then Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy in October 2013. They were included in the convoy along with 3 Fortuners. The registration number then was 1818.
With the bifurcation of the state, the CM’s convoy has been divided and a Prado each has been allotted to the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The registration numbers were changed by the Chief Minister’s security staff.
“Generally, the CM’s security staff does not approach the RTA for registration. The number changes with change of Chief Ministers, and they reflect their lucky numbers. The number change is done by security staff,” said a senior official of transport department.
On the transport transport department website, the number AP09K6666 is registered to ‘M/S Srilakshimipriya Estates Pvt Ltd’ on December 13, 1995.
The vehicle was a Cielo, manufactured by DCM Daewoo Motor Ltd.
