Hyderabad: The last IPL match in Hyderabad finally saw a win from the home team Sunrisers Hyderabad but it was not without bouts of tantrums and big shows of love. From an ever-smiling Shikhar Dhawan to a furious Virat Kohli, we bring to you the interesting snippets from the match.
Mexican wave and flying kisses
Hyderabadis came out in huge numbers to support their home team and the boys in orange didn’t disappoint. As Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner started off the Sunrisers’ innings with a successful partnership, the crowd often showed their enthusiasm by doing the ‘Mexican Wave’. But what stole the show was an excited Ayesha Mukherjee, Shikhar’s wife, who sent out flying kisses to dear husband as he scored 50 and was also seen picking up their son every time “daddy” hit a four or a six. And the smile never left Dhawan’s face throughout the match.
Bad Mood
David Warner, who scored 59 runs, seemed upset when he got out and as he walked back into the pavilion, he almost knocked off a dustbin. His mood perhaps lifted when he won the man of the match award.
While there were celebrations in the SRH dug out, it was pretty glum near the RCB dug out as their chances of qualifying for playoffs dwindled.
Visibly upset was captain Virat Kohli who was seen dropping off the cheque, he received for hitting the maximum sixes, midway on the ground as he walked back to the pavilion.
Babys day out
At the end, it was Shikhar who got the crowd’s attention when he took his son in his arms and took him on a small tour of the field.
Well, Shikhar was not the only one who was keeping a special eye on his kid. V.V.S. Laxman’s kids were seen hanging around near the dug out and interacting with most cricketers. While Irfan Pathan was seen talking to them, Laxman even made his kids click a photograph with Warner. He later took them near the pitch for a small round of cricket.

And as the match got over, we didn’t leave without noticing that actor Venkatesh gave it a miss. And ironically, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team won.
