Anurag’s Ugly adjustment
Mumbai: Anurag Kashyap, who had refused the mandatory anti-tobacco disclaimer for Ugly and had filed a petition in the court, seems to have changed his mind now. He says he’s ready to release the film even if it means airing the disclaimer.
“The case is still on in the court and no concrete result seems to be coming. The case is going on in the Supreme Court. If we want, we can approach the ministry but it isn’t confirmed yet. The distributors and financiers have already lost a lot of money and I believe it’s best to go ahead and release it. So let’s see what can be done. I don’t want a good film to be stuck and never see the light of the day.”
Another film that has been stuck in the cans for long and being given a much-needed push by Kashyap is The World Before Her, a documentary by Nisha Pahuja. The filmmaker admits that he was so impressed with the film, that he watched it three days in a row before deciding to present it.
