Another prank gone wrong - ‘Mom, I am doing drugs'

Hyderabad: First, it was “Dad, I got my girlfriend pregnant”, but now it’s Syed Ahmadullah Arshad’s turn to get beaten black and blue with the video, “Mom, I am on drugs”.

Uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘FoyTv’, two days ago, ‘Prank on my angry mom gone wrong’ has now received over 16,000 views.

In the video, 24-year old Arshad, who stays in Malkajgiri, is seen telling his mother that he needs '20,000 to

'30,000 as he is addicted to drugs. The mother, understandably, goes berserk and after the initial shock beats Arshad with whatever she can lay her hands on, quite literally.

“I just wanted to see her reaction. No one in my family smokes or drinks, so to tell her that I am into drugs was yes, shocking,” confesses Arshad, who works as an analyst in the city.

“But what I didn’t know was that, just before walking into my room, she had an argument with my father and was not in a good mood at all. So, the thrashing part is pretty real I assure you. I was being beaten up even after the camera stopped recording,” he remembers.

And how is famous mum reacting to the prank now?

“She is laughing about it, so is my father. My sister regrets that she wasn’t around to watch it live.”

The Hyderabad clip looks very similar to the prank Delhi boy Prateek Varma had played on his father a month ago. And a web user summed up our question perfectly. “First it was the pregnant girlfriend prank and now this. Do you guys really want to get beaten up for cheap publicity??”

But Arshad is welcoming criticism. “I don’t know why people keep saying it’s like the ‘Delhi guy’s video’; Prateek’s video was not original either. We are just pranksters and that’s what we do.”

‘FoyTv’ or ‘Fun on YouTube’ is a month-old YouTube channel that was started by Arshad and his friend Mhd. Absaar, a 23-year-old student.
