Chennai: Die-hard fans of the gorgeous actress Jyothika have something to cheer about. Their favourite actress is returning to the silver screen after a long hiatus. If sources in K’town are to be believed, the bubbly lady, who stopped acting after her marriage to actor Suriya, will soon face the camera in National Award winning filmmaker Pandiraj’s offering.
The buzz is that the director has pulled a coup of sorts by roping in the lovely couple’s daughter, Diya, as well for the same movie which is a child-based film. With his earlier much acclaimed blockbusters, Pasanga and Marina, both dealing with kids, Pandiraj’s expertise in handling children is well known. Presently, the director is busy with a romantic entertainer, the Simbu-Nayan starrer, Idhu Namma Aalu.
Reports suggest that his next will be child-centric for which he wanted Jyothika for the role of a school teacher. One may recall Gautham Menon’s Kakka Kakka where she essayed the character of a teacher with utmost grace and élan. We hear that the movie will be produced by Suriya’s newly floated banner, 2D Entertainment, 2D standing for his kids’ names, Diya and Dev.
Pandiraj said that he was gearing up for a subject predominantly for children. “Everything is in a premature stage,” he added. “Yes, it would be nice if Jyothika madam enacts the role. It is not true that she has given her nod to come on board as reported in certain sections of the media. I am yet to meet and discuss the script with her.” He strongly denied though that her daughter, Diya, was part of the project. “It is a baseless rumour,” he said. On the Simbu-Nayan film, put on hold for some time, he said that all was well now and that the unit would be leaving for Kumbakonam in a couple of days for the next schedule.
