Hyderabad: Our new Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has definitely left a mark on the country’s youth. An indelible one at that.
Winner of Roadies XI and tattoo artist, Nikhil Sachdeva, has recently inked a tattoo of NaMo on scriptwriter Chandra Mehendrou who is currently working on a script for a film on Modi. Chandra had also written the recently released film Gang Of Ghosts.
Nikhil says, “I feel that it (NaMo tattoos) will soon become a trend. His personality and intelligence has made him a people’s leader. When Chandra Mahendrou came and discussed about the script she was writing on Modi, we thought of doing a Modi tattoo because she could connect to it and it would also be an inspiration.”
Talking about past and present trends, Nikhil says, “Many patriotic clients have asked me for tattoos of legends like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose. People getting Narendra Modi’s tattoos is a new fad as he represents the power of youth.”
“Before Modi became prime minister, many youths from Gujarat had got the tattoo and now it is catching up in other states of India too,” he adds.
Nikhil also says that he is now being flooded with requests to ink similar tattoos of NaMo. “It was the first time I did Modi’s tattoo but now a lot of people want to get the PM’s tattoo inked and I am sure it will catch up in a big way in the months to come.”
