Hyderabad: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two people, one of them her acquaintance, in Rajendranagar. The victim, who works in a textile store in Hyderguda as a sales girl, was abducted by the accused, who kept her in a room at Yadagirigutta and Bhongir for two days and sexually assaulted her. The girl was dropped off at Mehdipatnam on Thursday by the rapists, who went absconding.
The victim, who has studied till Class VIII, stays with her mother in Upparpally. A couple of days ago, a missing complaint was lodged by her mother. According to the victim, the two accused picked her up in an autorickshaw three days ago. One of them was identified as her friend’s friend who stayed near her house. They drove her to Yadagirigutta and Bhongir, where she was kept in a room and sexually assaulted for two days.
Rajendranagar SI P. Yadaiah Goud said, “The victim said that her friend’s friend approached her while she was on her way to work and lured her into the vehicle. She was taken to two places and subjected to sexual assaults by both persons.” The accused later dropped her off at Mehdipatnam. She was traced by the police at a theatre in Bahadurpura on Thursday.
“Though she was traced in the early hours of Thursday, she did not tell anyone anything. She reached home, freshened up and only then revealed the truth to her mother. Both of them approached us and lodged a complaint late on Thursday night,” said Kushalkar, inspector, Rajendranagar police station, adding, “A case of abduction has been registered under the Criminal Amendment Act and is being investigated. A manhunt is on for the absconding accused.” Meanwhile, the police is looking for the accused duo and is also examining the victim’s complaint as some of her answers were not entirely convincing.
