No break in contact and dialogue with people: Modi
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message to party leaders, including ministers in his government, is that there should be no break in the sampark and samvad (contact and dialogue) with the people. The ministers have been advised by Mr Modi that they should be in touch with the people, not just their constituencies, sho-uld engage with them, cautioning them that they should not lose contact with their roots.
It could be recalled here that “sampark and samvad” were the two main aspects of the BJP’s election campaign which was hailed by the political analysts as the most extensive mass outreach programme in the electoral history of the world. The ministers have been advised by the PM that after settling down in this respective ministries, they should also try to have regular dialogue with the people so as to give an impression that the BJP-led NDA government is people oriented and its ministers are not just accessible but even ready to personally reach out to people to hear their grievances.
Mr Modi himself is keeping regular tabs on his parliamentary constituency Varanasi and had met Varanasi mayor Ram Gopal Mohale earlier this week. The BJP maintains that Mr Modi will visit his constituency soon. The ministers, it was learnt, have been suggested that a message should be send out that the NDA government is “people’s government,” which is reaching out to them to hear their grievances.
The BJP leaders have been told that they should not lose sight of the fact that it is the people, who have brought this government. Mr Modi, who himself had addressed more than 5,500 events including rallies and 3D events, and covered a distance of more than three lakh kilometres during election campaigning, wants that BJP leaders including the MPs and the ministers should convey to people directly about the initiatives taken by the government.
