Mumbai: Designer Manish Malhotra, who was in town recently for an event by the Vogue Bridal Studio, gave some handy tips for brides-to-be.
Admitting that people were trying out new colours this season, Manish says, “I remember introducing the royal blue color in Delhi during a show and a lot of people opted for it for the reception. The colors that brides should opt for this season are orange, pink and tones of red like blood red, basically young and warm colors. In short, they should try colors that lend a glow on their faces.”
Manish has also noticed a trend that many people are gradually moving away from the traditional attire, which is sari.
He says, “It started off as a sari, but now it’s looking more of a gown and something else. But I don’t think one should experiment a lot with the wedding dress. Invention in the cut of ghagra, like a tapered gown-like ghagra is something one shouldn’t try on the most important day of your life.”
Manish adds, “If there is lot of jewellery, then go with a simple blouse and vice versa.”
