Hyderabad: Every summer, Pawan Kalyan sends boxes of mangoes from his own garden to around 15 people in the industry and the list of recipients are never the same.
An interesting fact is that the superstar does not believe in hierarchy and even technicians have been known to get mangoes from him. It depends who he is close to that year.
For example, his brothers, Chiranjeevi and Naga Babu were regular recipients of mangoes till last year but this time their names were missing from the list.
This year, after his contribution to the election wins of the BJP in the centre and Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh, everyone wanted to be on his “mango” list, but the actor followed his rules and sent them to his current favourites.
One of them was actor Nithiin, who Tweeted: “POWER STAR sent me mangoes this summer too!! very tastyy .. thankuuuuuuu sir, (sic)”.
“He takes care of his garden personally and at the end of the year when the crop comes, he distributes them. He chooses approximately 15 people who have worked with him that includes the technicians,” says a close associate of Pawan Kalyan.
“This time he didn’t send mangoes to his brothers but he sent them to Suresh Babu and others,” adds the source. Last year actor Brahmaji got mangoes but was left out this year.
Since he is currently working with Suresh Babu for Gopala Gopala, Pawan sent him mangoes. “Yes, I got a huge bag of mangoes from Pawan Kalyan,” says Suresh Babu.
Sources say that whenever the actor gets free time he spends it in his garden. He personally takes care of every plant and sits with local farmers to ensure that the garden remains neat and healthy.
