Petitioner want heatwave calamity under Disaster Management Act, 2005

Hyderabad: J.K. Raju, an advocate from the city, has moved the Hyderabad High Court seeking a direction to the AP government to consider the ‘heatwave calamity’ as a disaster and as an eligible calamity for extending financial assistance to the victims’ families, with retrospective effect and retroactive operation under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
