Lip-lock keeps a love story real: Regina Cassandra
Hyderabad: With her film Ra Ra Krishnayya releasing this week, actress Regina Cassandra hopes that her on-screen pairing with Sundeep Kishan is appreciated by the audience. “During the shoot of our first film, Routine Love Story, we didn’t really know each other. But we have become friends over the last couple of years, which helped us while shooting this film. Our acting timings were in perfect sync and we felt free to tell each other if something wasn’t working out in a particular scene,” says Regina.
The movie also features an on-screen kiss between the lead couple. And even though, it’s not a regular feature in Tollywood, the actress feels that it shouldn’t be treated differently than any other scene. She says, “The kiss wasn’t included to get audiences to the theatres, neither was it a compulsory aspect for the script. But if you have to show a love story, how would you portray it without any intimacy between the couple? It’s as simple as any real-life relationship. If you are in love with someone, a kiss is merely a way of expressing it.”
Regina says that on a personal level, shooting for a kiss might be quite awkward, “But that is when you need to shed your inhibitions and get into the skin of the character. Otherwise the whole plot falls flat and becomes unconvincing,” she says.
