I have a steady boyfriend; why would I date Sajid Khan: Esha Gupta

Mumbai: After a facing a lot of flak for her recent appearance in Sajid Khan’s comedy film ‘Humshakals’, Esha Gupta, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror opened up about her thoughts on the film, the reason she decided to go ahead with it and of course her equation with the director.

The actress knew well in advance that her role in the film was just as an eye candy. She said, “Sajid told me upfront that I was an eye-candy and would have to ham my way through the film. I knew Humshakals wouldn't win me any best actress awards. Many have questioned my decision to take up this film, but I have no regrets.”

The reason she agreed to star in the film was so that she could get into mainstream Bollywood after starring opposite a top gun like Saif Ali Khan.

The actress also said that she doesn't want to be part of a multistarrer film, for now she's keener on doing a solo lead or a two heroine project.

Finally when asked about the rumours and speculations about her relationship with director Sajid she laughed and said, “I have a steady boyfriend. Why would I date Sajid Khan? I hate rumours which imply that I can't get work unless I sell my soul. Merit counts.“
