Telangana gives short shrift to Chandrababu Naidu’s office
Hyderabad: The roads and buildings (R&B) department, Hyderabad wing has rejected to attend the works that belong to the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh government.
R&B department has only one office at Hyderabad which looks after the government works and maintains the government guest houses in the city. After state bifurcation the Hyderabad R&B wing was allotted to Telangana while the Andhra Pradesh government has only the chief engineer in Hyderabad. The AP R&B department officials asked their counterparts in Hyderabad to look after the maintenance of the Lake View guest house which was allotted to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as his camp office. The AP officials also asked the Hyderabad wing to prepare the design of AP Chief Minister’s office at Secretariat.
But, the Hyderabad wing turned down the request of AP. They said that they cannot attend the AP government’s works since they were allotted to Telangana.
AP officials allege that Hyderabad being the common capital for both states for ten years the R&B officials of Hyderabad should have honoured their request.
However, opting for an alternative the AP R&B department has drawn R&B officials from Seemandhra districts to set up a separate wing to work for the Andhra government.
