‘BJP committed to give water, power’
Nellore: Union minister for urban development M. Venkaiah Naidu said that the NDA government is committed to provide protected water, 24 hours power and house for every family by 2021.
He was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a renovated temple tank of Sri Kodandaramanjaneya Swamy temple at Gudur on Sunday.
He said that Narendra Modi is particular about keeping election promises and he is prevailing upon ministers and CM to speed up the development process.
He found fault with political parties for offering sops such as free power while stressing that it would hamper development. He urged people to pay power dues and other taxes.
The senior BJP leader told the local officials to take steps to widen roads in Gudur and advised the political leaders to cooperate for the development and avoid applying pressure on officials.
In a piece of advice to party men and others felicitating him spending huge sums, he suggested them to utilize the funds for the benefit of public. He directed the endowment officials to recover the temple lands subjected to encroachment.
The Minister has lamented over funds crunch even to perform daily rituals in some temples while attributing the situation to encroachment of their properties.
Gudur legislator Pasam Suneel Kumar, Municipal Chairperson Ponaka Devasenamma and YSRC leader Yellasiri Gopal Reddy were present during the programme.
