I would love to play a villain: S. Sreesanth
The cricket’s controversial child is currently in Chennai for his acting debut
Chennai: Cricketer S. Sreesanth says that Chennai is always special to him. The mercurial medium pacer, who was in the city, is all set to launch his filmi career. Sreesanth says, “Chennai has always been lucky for me, even for cricket. I was here at the MRF Pace Foundation. Now, I’m doing a film here, which is a Tamil/Telugu bilingual with a leading production house. The film is all set to go on the floors by October 3.” Sreesanth has also turned music composer, having created six numbers for a Tamil film. “I’ve tried my hand at music composing with these songs. I’m looking for a good producer. Once people start listening to it, I will know if it’s good or bad,” says the cricketer.
Sreesanth confesses that he’s a huge fan of Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan. “I am eagerly waiting to see the Tamil remake of Drishyam, because I am also a big fan of Mohanlal,” he says, adding that he is open to any type of roles. “I would like to do interesting character roles and even play villain. I would be honoured to learn from legends like Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth and Ajith. Even when I was playing in the Kerala team and when people asked me whom I would like to play with, I said I will play with Sachin Tendulkar in the national team,” he says, confidently.
The cricketer, who also launched the Toni and Guy salon at Harrington Road, says that the area evokes fond memories. “I love Harrington Road from my MRF Pace Foundation days. I also used to visit the Ayyappa temple at Anna Nagar every day. So, Chennai is special,” he says, in parting.
