First look of 'P.K' launch date finalised
Mumbai: The buzz in B-town has been all about when Aamir Khan will launch the first look of his next big Christmas release, P.K.
The film, directed by Raj Kumar Hirani, still requires some 15-20 days of shooting.
However, its first look is ready, although the team has been in a dilemma about when to showcase it.
A source told this paper, “Initially, Aamir wanted to release the first look of the film on July 24, a day before Kick released.
But that would mean entering Salman’s space, where the film was highly anticipated as well. So the plans were then dropped.”
There were rumours that Aamir Khan would release the first look on August 15, the day Singham Returns is releasing.
However, the glitch here is that the trailer for Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year is attached to Singham 2 and the plans have been finalised.
“Raju (Hirani) told Aamir that releasing the first look on a day when Ajay’s film would release, along with Shah Rukh’s promo, would lead to P.K.’s first look being overshadowed. Aamir took note of Raju’s point and dropped the idea,” our source said.
The makers have now picked a safer day and will release the first look and poster of P.K. on Friday.
It is not yet clear if a big event has been planned for it, although we hear that the unveiling will occur on a digital platform.
