High Court: Book case on P Shankar Rao

Police confirmed the development, but said they have not received any notice

Hyderabad: A local court in Malkajgiri directed the Neredmet police to book a case against former minister P. Shankar Rao, his brother P. Dayanand and others following a private petition filed against them, alleging they tried to grab land in the Green Fields Colony at Kanajiguda by presenting forged documents.

Based on a petition filed by one S. Chandrashekar, the court gave directions to book a case on Monday. Police confirmed the development, but said they have not received any notice. “It’s learnt that the court gave directions. But as of now, we haven’t received any court notice or intimation. Once we receive the notice, a case will be booked,” said Neredmet inspector N. Chandra Babu.

While issuing notices to the respondents, the court said the election results would be subject to the outcome of the present case.
