‘I was confident about this film’

Hyderabad: Actress Anjali is grateful for the success of her latest film Geethanjali as her last film didn’t do well at the box-office.

“I worked very hard for Geethanjali and I played a dual role for the first time in my career. I am happy that the film went on to be a hit. This film has helped me prove myself,” says Anjali.

During the film’s making, the actress was approached by many filmmakers with offers, but she refused them as she was committed to Geethanjali. “Many big films came my way, however I was both committed to and confident about this film so I didn’t sign any other film,” she says. She added that it was not easy to shoulder a film completely by herself.

“This is a female-centric film and initially I was scared about whether I could pull the crowds to the theatres. But in the end people liked it and I am happy,” she says.

Anjali has now signed a Tamil and a Kannada film. “Once those are done I will come back to Telugu films,” she says.
