Chandrababu Naidu vows safety to Andhra Pradesh citizens, investors
Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday pledged to deal with land mafias, liquor, mining, contractor, sand, red sanders smugglers syndicates, perpetrators of crime against women and white collar criminals with an iron hand and maintain law and order to ensure a safe and secured life to citizens and investors in residuary Andhra Pradesh.
“All these mafias got encouragement during last 10 years of Congress rule. The TD government has already brought them under control and before completing 100-days in office, this government will ensure that good governance is in place,” said Mr Naidu.
Stating that the TD government will use technology to maintain law and order, the CM added that he will bring in appropriate changes and amendments in various Acts to prevent crimes.
This will be done after analysing crimes committed and studying the court’s verdicts.
He released a white paper on governance — law and order, excise, local bodies, institutional degradation and poor governance, highlighting corruption and rise of mafia during last 10 years of Congress rule.
He divided the Congress rule of 10 years in two parts — 2004-2009, which was plagued with corruption issues, and 2009-2014, which was beset with lack of governance.
As the Telugu Desam completed 65 days in office on Wednesday, he said soon an action plan and a policy to provide good governance would be charted. The government also plans on strengthening the police force using technology, he added.
Mr Naidu recalled that between 2004-2014 there was a spurt in political murders, white collar crimes and money laundering.
