Vikram Bhatt impersonated in casting auditions
Mumbai: An industry that looks glamorous from the outside, Bollywood has its share of dark going-ons as well.
And while the casting couch is a much-talked-about phenomenon, what the industry is really seeing right now, is a surge in cases where people with fake credentials are luring acting aspirants with the promise of parts in big projects, in exchange for a sum.
In the most recent of these cases, a person claiming to be casting for Vikram Bhatt’s next film held fake auditions, and even “finalised” actors.
When Vikram found out, he immediately set the record straight on his Facebook page. “I have been given to understand that some crooks are holding auditions for a fictitious film of mine and trapping unsuspecting young boys and girls. This is to inform everyone that I have only one casting agency: Cast in Time. Any call from anyone (else) should not be entertained,” Vikram said.
Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Vikram Bhatt added, “I got messages from people asking if I am having auditions. That’s when I got to know that ‘auditions’ are being held. It’s very sad that people are being misled by these crooks.”
