Tech students must upload projects online
Students now have to upload project works at AICTE website
Hyderabad: Final-year engineering students, who buy projects from the market and submit the same as their own, might not be able to do so anymore as it has become mandatory for project works to be uploaded to the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) website.
The umbrella body has written to all approved institutions that it is mandatory for students and faculty to upload their research and project work online. It is well known that a majority students buy the projects and submit them as there is almost zero scrutiny in the colleges. AICTE officials say they want to arrest this trend and promote innovation.
In a letter to approved institutions, AICTE has said, “AICTE has made it compulsory to upload the research work projects of all students and faculty. All students at the diploma and UG levels are advised to submit the abstract of the project work conducted in the final year.”
The AICTE has been discussing this issue for some time now and decided to ask students to upload their work. Dr S.K. Jena, AICTE regional director, said, “Often, we see that the projects submitted by students are the same as those submitted previously.”
