Elizabeth Kate Hallam got the cream!
Elizabeth Kate Hallam, the wife of singer Lucky Ali, isn’t just a former beauty queen but an actress, a loving mother, an adventurous traveller and also an ambassador for a charity organisation. She is now going back to theatre after a long hiatus, in the play And Then They Came for Me which will be touring India in September. She opens up about being an actress at the age of four and being on the cover of international magazines.
She is young, extremely talented and is blessed with a beautiful family. It’s no wonder Elizabeth sums up her life, “I am really happy at this stage.” Always aspiring to be an actress, she began acting since the age of four years when she was a poet reciting poetry at poetry festivals. From winning the beauty pageant to working with international designers including Vivienne Westwood, Elizabeth has come a long way. “I loved the beauty pageants, the fashion and the business, where I had the opportunity to travel. And my modelling days have been great I have been blessed not to lose myself in such a competitive industry; thanks to my parents who raised me so grounded.” About her married life, she does not want to divulge anything and guarantees that, “I am blessed with a wonderful family, and I like to keep my family life private. We are all very happy, healthy and things are going well as always.”
On becoming a mother to “Dani Boy,” as she fondly calls him, she says, “It really brings something beautiful to a woman’s life. I cannot express the feeling but, I love being a mother and a woman. Though, I am a career minded girl, I am equally family-orientated.” Ask her how she manages her professional and personal life, she says it is about respecting each other’s space.
Her new play, And Then They Came for Me, is a message of triumph over tragedy. “I am excited at the challenge of portraying the lead role of Eva Schloss, who is a remarkable woman and who has been through so much. I hope to use my own personal experiences to bring the character to life.” On Bollywood, she affirms that, if there is a good script then she would certainly take it up.
An enthusiastic traveller, it is “the mystery,” that enraptures her to travel globally. “Even Dani Boy loves exploring and encountering new things, just like me. I love seeing his reactions to new things, they are priceless,” she laughs. Her favourite destinations include Marrakech, Italy, LA, London and New York. While she is busy travelling she reveals, “There is so much beauty in India and it is home for me. And when I am away, I miss the food and the spices, importantly, the coconuts.” This pretty mother is also an ambassador in the UK for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, about which she says, “It is a charity that is extremely close to my heart.”
