Madhavan promised to take the challenge
Raj Kundra who was in Chennai, he loves the city and talks about spending quality time with his friends
Chennai:Raj Kundra loves visiting Chennai; the reasons aren’t because the gold loving city is the perfect launch pad for his new business venture. It is home to some of his best buddies Madhavan, Arya and Shruti Haasan.
“Whenever I come here, I make it a point to catch up with them (Madhavan, Arya and Shruti Haasan),” says Raj Kundra, who was here for the launch of his latest venture, Satyug Meera Gold Plan. “In fact, after landing here last night, I called Arya to invite him to watch The Expendables 3 with me.
Unfortunately, he is out of station and so I had to fly solo,” Raj said with regret. Discussing his friendship with the Raja Rani actor, the suave businessman further points out how Arya inevitably ends up in a dilemma during CSK Vs RR matches. “We often sit together to watch the matches and cheer for our teams.
Though he is from Chennai, Arya would be in half a mind to support Rajasthan Royals as well, thanks to my motivation of course,” Raj adds with a smile. Raj has challenged Madhavan and Shruti Haasan to do the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ after him.
When asked about the outcome, he chuckles, “Yes, I did challenge them and I received a call from Madhavan saying that he is up for it. He sounded a bit hesitant initially, being in the middle of a shoot. As you know, the challenge involves ice and there is a chance he may fall sick during shooting. But once it concludes, he has reassured me that he will complete the challenge and I expect no less from him,” says Raj with conviction.
He adds that Shruti hasn’t responded to his tweet so far. “She is a dear friend and a great sport. I thought it would be interesting to see her take up the challenge, especially since it is for a good cause. I am yet to get her response on it.”
Kundra gives full credit for his latest business idea to his wife and actress, Shilpa Shetty. “I was happy buying and selling gold in bars, as it is easier and profitable. Shilpa pointed out how there a huge market for gold amongst the average Indian, who can’t afford it thanks to the exorbitant rates. Therefore we came up with this systematic plan that allows people from all walks of society to invest in gold starting at just Rs 50!” Raj explains. On a parting note, Raj reveals that he looks forward to bringing his son, Viaan, to his first trip to Chennai, “sometime when the weather is nice and cooler.”
