Forget Ice, Hyderabad woman gives India its own ‘Rice Bucket Challenge’
Mumbai: It went viral; it caught on to the world and also reached India with celebrities and sportspersons posting videos online. No prizes for guessing, yes we are talking about the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’.
Inspired by the global charity chain to spread awareness about ALS, Hyderabad-based Manju Latha Kalanidhi has come up with a better way of taking up the challenge, without wasting ice or water.
It is India's very own- the Rice Bucket Challenge. "Indian version for Indian needs," it says on the official Facebook page.
The challenge is slightly different from just ice and water. One needs to cook or buy a bucket of rice and feed it to someone needy. The hastag #RiceBucketChallenge has to be used after the challenge has been undertaken.
Well, in India do as the Indians do.
