New school syllabus to feature language, culture and history of Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday said that the government would revise the syllabus for school students from next year to incorporate the life stories of prominent people of Telangana besides highlighting the language, culture and history of the region.
He said that the life and writings of noted Telangana literary great Kaloji Narayana Rao would also be included in the school syllabus. He added that the government would celebrate the birth anniversary of Kaloji as a state function on September 9 from this year and directed officials to hold special programmes in all districts and schools to celebrate the occasion.
He accused the previous governments of neglecting Telangana’s rich history, prominent people and places of the region and said that it was the responsibility of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government to pass on this to future generations. The government has also decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kaloji.
