Amid stir, cracks in Imran Khan’s front
Islamabad: A top leader of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf on Sunday said that party chief Imran Khan would be responsible if martial law was imposed in the country.
PTI President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that the party decided not to move towards Parliament House but Mr Khan violated the party decision which could even derail the democracy.
Addressing a news conference here, Mr Hashmi said that that party’s delegation held a meeting with the government on Saturday evening and was looking forward to hear from them.
He said that all party leaders had agreed upon the idea of not making a move forward and informed Mr Khan of the decision. He committed himself to not giving a call to move towards the Parliament house, Mr Hashmi said.
“But after receiving a message from someone he told me that it is now necessary to move ahead. He asked me to go if I did not approve his decision,” he added.
He added that though he does not agree with the current system headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, but would not attempt to ruin the sanctity of Parliament.
