A dream come true for DC online contest winners
The winners can’t believe their luck having interacted with Deepika and Arjun
Hyderabad: The five winners of the online contest that promised a rare meet and greet with the stars of the upcoming Bollywood movie, Finding Fanny, were selected from over 400 entries. The readers were asked to send in their stories to our question: How far have you gone to bring back your lost love? And here are the winners and their answers.
Maliha Ahmed can’t thank her stars enough for having this opportunity. “I don’t stay here in Hyderabad, but I was on a one-month holiday and during one of my online searches I came across the contest and I gave it a shot,” says the 20-year-old, who is flying back to Toronto on Wednesday.”
For Haritha Pushpa, meeting Deepika was a dream come true. “A few years ago, I happened to see her at an event, but I never got to speak to her,” says Haritha, who after the incident had started compiling a scrapbook comprising photos of the actress’ work. And on Tuesday, she gave her the scrapbook, which she had been making for two-and-a-half-years.
She says the answer to the contest question that made it all happen was, “Being able to find my friend on a social networking site. We had been friends since LKG, but after her dad was transferred we lost touch. It was only a few months ago that I found her again.”
Karishma Asoodani, 19, admits that the meeting with the Bollywood stars has changed her life. “People hate me now because I got to meet the stars of Bollywood,” she laughs. Vinay Kalyankar, 17, lost touch with his childhood friend and even 10 years of efforts to trace the friend had proved futile; until he spotted her at a friend’s wedding.
Amit Kabra, 18, who gifted Deepika a teddy bear has only one thing to say about the experience: “Awesome.”
