CBSE students from classes 9 to 12 will be attending the session telecast from 3 pm to 5 pm

Chennai: While CBSE schools are preparing for the live telecast of PM Modi’s address to school students on Teacher’s Day on Friday, schools run by city corporation and private managements are not keen on it.
As per the Central government directive, students in CBSE schools from classes 9 to 12 will be attending the session telecast from 3 pm to 5 pm on Friday.
“We have allocated spaces on the school ground for the assembly of the students and backup rooms with LCD displays have also been arranged in case of rains. Projector and data cards have also been ticked in the checklist for tomorrow’s session to go off smoothly,” said authorities at the PSBB group of schools in Chennai.
Speaking to this newspaper, J.Ajeeth Prasath Jain, senior principal, Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram said that they had made elaborate arrangements for students to listen to the PM’s speech in their 1000 seat auditorium. “This initiative of the nation’s top most leader will definitely motivate and inspire the students,” he said.
Corporation schools in the city however confirmed that they were not planning to arrange for a telecast of the speech. However, student and teacher community feel that all students in the country should be given the opportunity to be addressed directly by the PM.
“I feel that the entire student fraternity should have the privilege to listen to our PM. Enabling the live video to CBSE schools alone discriminates against the other students and forbids them from enjoying equal rig hts,” said Sunandha Prem kum ar, teac her of a private school in Chennai.
