Nara Lokesh starts ‘tab’ culture in Telugu Desam
Tablets will be given to all units of the Telugu Desam to send regular inputs to party headquarters
Hyderabad: Unlike in the past, wherein Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu struggled to find time to solve problems he encountered as the head of the state and the president of the Telugu Desam, this time he has found some relief with his son Nara Lokesh evincing a keen interest in streamlining systems.
Nara Lokesh, the man behind TD’s electioneering campaign, sits today at the party headquarters monitoring almost all the party and government related activities. “I am only assisting the president and putting some proposals before him. The decisions are taken by him only and not by me,” he asserted.
Mr Lokesh goes to the party office every day at 9 am and starts his day by having a confidential meeting with his team handpicked by him during the elections. He interacts with his team members on various issues, scans the media reports and leaves to meet people who come to see him. On an average 400 to 500 people call on him.
After a brief lunch break he meets leaders of all cadres ranging from ministers to MPs, MLAs and others strictly by appointment. He winds up by 8.30 pm and heads for home. The father and son exchange the day’s happenings and important decisions are chalked out. A new initiative Lokesh proposed is now under active implementation.
A massive ‘tabletisation’ of the entire party activity right from village level to state has been proposed. “Tablets will be given to all units of the party to operate and send regular inputs to the party headquarters and based on those inputs we will decide everything” an aide of Lokesh said.
“Selection of people for the nominated posts at the district level can be be done only after all the village, mandal, municipal, zilla parishad and district party leaders discuss and recommend through tablets,” he said.
Lokesh and his team also started preparing a performance report card for all TD MLAs and ministers including the Chief Minister. The first of these report cards was handed over to everyone recently.
“This is a regular exercise to know the pulse of people on the performance of individuals. We will compile it and submit to the respective leaders,” he said.
