Political prank? MLA wipes his hands off former MP’s sari, calls it a ‘joke’
Bhopal: Independent legislator Dinesh Rai is in news for all the wrong reasons. The MLA from Madhya Pradesh was caught on camera wiping his hands off former BJP lawmaker Neeta Pateriya’s sari at a public function.
Rai was on stage with Pateriya, who was unaware of Rai’s wiping act. The 44-year-old legislator had reportedly ‘soiled’ his hands with oil during the lamp-lighting ceremony.
Local TV channels reported the news on Wednesday and questioned Rai for his act.
Unfazed by what he has done in full public view, Rai called his act a ‘joke’. Rai reportedly called Pateriya and said that apologized for his action.
"She is like my bhabhi (sister-in-law) and I just did it in fun," he told journalists.
Pateriya has now left it on the state’s ruling BJP to decide on legal action against Rai.
