Mahesh Babu’s Aagadu breaks box office collection records in the US

Hyderabad: After receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences, Mahesh Babu has broken the record for box office collections in the US, with his recently released action entertainer Aagadu.
Directed by Srinu Vaitla, the film has created a new record with opening day collections grossing $1 million and the movie has collected $581,000 through premieres that were screened across the US, on Thursday.
Anil Sunkara, the producer of Aagadu tweeted, “Almost $1 million by end of day 1. Many screens to report, yet. Aagadu on d way to create history in Indian Cinema in US. Kissa Kallaas… Aagadu becomes the first movie to cross $1M mark by end of first day (including premiers on Thursday).” (sic)
Produced under the banner of 14 Reels Entertainment, the movie has Tamannaah playing Mahesh Babu’s love interest and Shruti Haasan is seen in an item number. Thaman has scored the music.
